Getting the Most Out of Your Bridal Details Photos
Chances are that you put a lot of effort into picking out every little detail of your wedding day. From the shoes to the jewelry to the flowers, every little detail tells a piece of the story of your wedding day! In order to get things off to a great start, please have all of the details you want images of in one place. Bridal details typically include:
This document will tell you all the items you’ll want to gather together and some tips to make the whole process smoother!
If all of your details are all in one central spot and ready to be photographed when we arrive, we can get through the detail photos quicker so that we can then focus on you getting ready and having fun. One tip for extra elements is to make sure they’re relatively small. Larger items will pull attention away from your small details, so select items that will compliment, not distract from your bridal details. If you gather a few items, we can select what will work best for styling the detail shots.
Add Meaning: keep an eye out for extra elements that you could include with your details especially if you have a theme. For example, if you have a beach theme, some shells or netting can be really photogenic. Small vintage trays, monogrammed ring boxes, silk ribbons are also great additions.
Location: Keep in mind that lighting plays a HUGE role in your photos, especially in your bridal suite. You want to make sure you have a good amount of NATURAL light via big windows.
Be sure to bring two copies of the full invitation suite especially if they’re double sided. This way, we’ll be able to style your flat lay pictures beautifully. Be sure to also include all the envelopes with your invitation suite so that I can capture the entire design!
Including extra styling elements that go with your wedding theme and colors like fabric, ribbon, patterned paper or trays can help to give the detail photos a cohesive look that is consistent with the rest of your wedding!
Keep all three rings (your wedding band, his wedding band, your engagement ring) in the bridal suite with your other details. Your Maid-of-honor can always be in charge of getting them to the Best Man at ceremony arrival.
You can also include any special groom details that you’d like photographed! Things like cuff links, tie, shoes, tie clip, boutonnières, etc. Make sure the groom has all of his details in one spot in his getting ready room
Loose flowers and greenery make such a lovely addition to bridal detail photos! Ask your florist to include some loose florals and greenery with the bouquet delivery!
The key to a stress-free wedding day is to delegate tasks! Assign a bridesmaid with the task of knowing where the detail items are and placing them in a box so they’re all together. This way, when we arrive, you don’t have to worry about looking for the items.
