Soundtrack: Irene by Beach House
I recently had the pleasure of meeting a wonderful couple, Brandan and Amanda, on a chilly winter evening at Duxbury Beach. Despite the strong winds and December temperatures, they were really enthusiastic throughout the entire photoshoot.
They danced together, ran around, played tag, warming themselves up (marginally) in the process. It all livened up the photos and was fun to run around with them, chasing them with my camera. They were 100% on board with the cinematic vibe I was aiming for in the session, and they nailllled it.

As much as I loved the energetic photos with the motion blur and movie-like qualities, two of my favorite photos are of Amanda looking at Brandan, as seen from behind his shoulder, and Brandan looking at Amanda, as seen from behind her shoulder. You can see the “I do” in their eyes, and their wedding is still eight months away. Overall, I’d say if you’re considering having your documentary engagement photoshoot at Duxbury Beach in the winter time, definitely give it a shot!
Anna and I are so excited for their wedding. We can’t wait to capture more special moments for them. They embody the fun, relaxed, cinematic style that we strive for in our photography.
