I started offering family photos because... I kind of hate to say hate, but I actually do kinda haaaate how family photo sessions usually go.
Everyone's rushing to get ready, wearing matching outfits they've never worn before. Everyone gets buckled into the car and rushed out the door to drive to some random park where nobody feels any connection to.
Then the kids are expected to stand still and "behave" when all they want to do is run, play, climb trees, get dirty, and just be three and free like they're supposed to be haha.
Don't run. Don't get dirty. Sit still.
Smile. Everyone look at the camera. Okay... now smile bigger.
I want your family photo session
to feel like a Saturday afternoon.
I'd rather photograph you in your own home baking cookies, coloring princesses and superheroes, building Legos in the living room, chasing each other around the backyard, or jumping into a pile of leaves.
When I photograph my own family, I'm not asking everyone to stop what they're doing and smile at the camera. It's my wife reading books to the kids, my son chasing his little sister around the yard with a rubber snake, spontaneous trips to get ice cream, and all the little everyday moments that somehow become the ones you miss the most.
When I look back at those photos, I don't just see what we were doing, I FEEL the love and happiness…. that’s what I want for you too.
We want photos that aren't forced
Getting dressed up and buying matching outfits for one day of photos isn't really our thing. We want our photos to feel like us being in our enviornment
We aren't really into posing and feel kinda awkward when staring at the camera and being told what to do
Optional add-ons:
Great for quick seasonal updates or holiday cards
Super 8 video or vintage camcorder video for extra nostalgia.
Photos of you and yours in your environment. Let's make some magic!
Perfect for documenting your real life in home or wherever you have fun
Absolutely. Most of the families we photograph say this. We focus more on activities and interaction than posing, so you don't need to know what to do or how to pose, just be present with your fam.
Not at all. We expect kids to be kids and thats the fun of it all. Our goal isn't to make your kids stick to rigid poses or timelines. We'd much rather let them be themselves in an environment where they wont shy away from being themselves.
Nope. We usually recommend wearing something that feels like you rather than trying to coordinate everyone perfectly. If you're uncomfy in what you're wearing, you'll look uncomfy in your photos.
Film is pure nostalgia. It's imperfect, a little unpredictable, and that's exactly why we love it. It slows us down, makes us think more intentionally about what we're shooting, and helps us focus on moments over quantity. There's something about the grain, color, and imperfections that feels less like a photograph and more like a memo
Perfect. We're not looking for a Pinterest house. We're documenting your family where life actually happens and where you and your fam can actually interact with "things", not sterility.
