The Wedding Day At The Herb Lyceum

This intimate October wedding at The Herb Lyceum was centered on family, close friendships, and feeling truly present. Tom and Blair planned a warm, intentional wedding day that felt organic and deeply personal, prioritizing connection over tradition. Captured with a mix of documentary-style digital and film photography, their wedding was designed for a couple who values authenticity and wanted to feel comfortable, not posed, in front of the camera.

Why They Chose Us As their Wedding Photographers At The Herb Lyceum

In Tom and Blairs own words: “It was really important to us to not only find a photographer whose style we liked, but that we clicked as people. We’re both a little self conscious when it comes to being in front of the camera, so having photographers that can ease our worries not only with the typical tips and tricks but also have similar interests as us we hope will really show in the photos! Basically, we needed to do a vibe check in addition to a style check.”

Their Vision

“Tom hates to love that we’ve been using the word “organic” to describe our wedding, but it’s the most apt one word description. Traditions we don’t want? Bye bye. New traditions? Sure! We’re approaching each decision with intention and detail to make sure at the end of the day, our wedding truly feels like us.

Blair: All my loved ones being in the same place at the same time, seeing Tom at the end of the aisle, and also wearing a pretty dress.

Tom: Celebrating with family and friends, spending the rest of my life with Blair, and the food.”

Their Proposal story is so worth the read!

“The ring arrived late October, but Tom wanted to wait until Blair had finished or had gotten to a more steady place during her job hunt before proposing.

The day Blair accepted her job offer, her friend came over so no proposal.
The next day, Tom’s friend came over so no proposal.
Then the day after that, Tom had put the ring in his backpack and left it out hoping that Blair would nag him about it and find the ring.
She did not.

They then left for NYC for the weekend to see Tom’s parents, but before they left Tom said, “Just so you know, I’m not proposing in New York,” asked Blair to drive to train station in CT, and then promptly slept the whole car ride down leaving Blair to spiral only slightly.

But much to Blair’s surprise, in the Stratford, CT Metro North train station parking lot, Tom got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. To which Blair initially thought was a prank until Tom was, in fact, on one knee.

After she said yes, Tom responded with, “See? I wasn’t going to propose in the city.”

Their Review

Chris and Anna were a dream to work with. My husband and I are relatively introverted and my husband is not a fan of getting his photos taken. But Chris especially helped him feel so comfortable during our engagement shoot and we knew come our wedding we were gonna be in great hands. And we were totally right. The photos we’ve gotten so far capture our essence perfectly and even had tissues on hand when I started bawling during vows. If you’re looking for documentary style and authentic photography, the Grahams are the folks for you. Such nice people, such nice photos, and I can’t wait for them to photograph our lives for years to come.
