The in-home engagement session with Luke and Holly in RI was everything I love about photographing couples in their own space. There’s something so effortless about documenting people where they’re most comfortable—it’s less about posing and more about capturing them.
Luke and Holly’s home had so much personality, which made it a dream to shoot in. From the cool architectural details to the rad details like a vintage typewriter, thriving plants, and their ridiculously adorable dog, every corner told a piece of their story. The space felt so warm and inviting, and their love for it—and each other—shone through in every shot.
One of my favorite moments? When they hopped into their clawfoot tub for some playful, romantic photos. Between their laughter and the easy way they interacted, it was pure magic—exactly the kind of unposed, real connection I strive to capture.
We also ventured out to a nearby ice cream shop that’s special to them, and those lighthearted moments were just as fun to document. Watching them joke around and share ice cream felt like stepping into their world for a little while—and it was such a joy to freeze those memories for them.
I also brought out my film cameras, knowing how much Luke and Holly appreciate that timeless, nostalgic vibe. Film added this soft, cinematic feel to the photos that fit their laid-back, sentimental style perfectly. I think in home engagement sessions are the best way to get the most out of your engagement session and to truly represent who you are.
Documenting their engagement in such a personal setting was an absolute privilege. Sessions like this, where the couple’s personality shines through every frame, remind me why I love what I do.
