Why They Chose Us
Alexis and Andrew hosted a relaxed and unhurried micro wedding at York Harbor Inn in York, Maine. They reached out to us because they wanted photography that wasn’t staged, just the real moments and the actual feeling of their day. In their own words:
“Our day is something that won’t be overly structured and fairly laid back. Your documentary style photography will be able to show a story of the day instead of a super formal and “constructed” day if that makes sense? We want someone to capture the day unfiltered and think that’s exactly what you’ll be able to do!”
Their Vision
“Coastal Maine is one of our favorite places and where we visit year round. We want the wedding to be laid back and comfortable where we can enjoy the ocean, good food and drinks with everyone who means so much to us. It’s rare to have both of our families in one place and we can’t wait to celebrate with everyone!”
The Wedding Day
Their micro wedding at York Harbor Inn felt super intimate and unhurried. They did everything their own way, without the pressure of a strict timeline. Their closest friends and family spent the whole weekend together, and you could feel how much everyone genuinely enjoyed being around one another. The whole group was warm, relaxed, and just as relaxed and unhurried as Andrew and Alexis.
A light, steady rain didn’t change a thing or dampen anyone’s mood! We had umbrellas and rain coats, and the weather just became part of the backdrop rather than the focus.
They chose our 3-hour micro wedding package, which covered the tail end of getting ready, their private vow reading, the ceremony, couples portraits, and the start of dinner. We kept everything storytelling-focused, documenting rather than directing.
Highlights
- The groom’s 10-year-old niece wandering around with her little camera, photographing everyone in her own way.
- The groom’s brother completely losing it as he hugged him after the ceremony.
- The bride getting her feet and dress sandy, embracing the rain and the chaos like it was all part of the adventure.
Why We Loved This Wedding
We loved this wedding because everything about it felt relaxed and genuine. Their families were so warm and welcoming and they joked around with me like I’d known them for years. And Andrew and Alexis were the definition of chill, fully embracing the intimacy of their day and making it meaningful in all the right ways.
Their Review
“Gosh Chris these are just beauuutiful. You captured everything in such an authentic way. We’ve spent most of the evening looking at all the pictures and reliving the day. Google review incoming in the next couple of days and I’ve already shared your info with folks in the area who might need some shoots in the future!”
